Discussion: what plugins do you use?

Considering pretty much every WordPress site has a post showcasing the plugins they use, I thought it might be cool to ask which plugins you use. I’ll obviously start it off myself.

First of all, I’m sorry to disappoint you: Dev WP barely uses any plugins. And with barely, I mean almost none. No fancy scripts running behind the site, it’s all through theme modification. The little news feed is an nifty example of using categories creatively and the little social bookmarks at the bottom of the post are included in the theme (I’ll be making a post showing you how to quickly do this yourself).

The only plugins that are activated are:

• Dagon Design Form Mailer: the contact form that is used on the contact page
• FeedBurner FeedSmith: setting up the feeds for use with Feedburner (don’t forget to subscribe, we’re close to 100 subscribers so far!)
• WordPress Admin Bar: I’ve mentioned this one in a previous post already.

WordPress Admin Bar

Some people have these plugins that they just can’t live without. The WordPress Admin Bar is such a plugin for me. The author’s description:

This plugin creates an admin bar at the top of your site for logged in users (i.e. you) based on the design of the admin bar located at WordPress.com. It has links to all popular areas of the admin area, saving you time.

It requires no theme editing whatsoever — just upload and activate and you’re done.
